Vendors have been cycling through as ma= ny as seven different processors trying to find one that=E2=80=99s both rel= iable and will actually pay out. The result: customers hitting declined tra= nsactions at checkout, often with no clear explanation. This isn=E2=80=99t a solvency issue =E2=80=94 it=E2=80=99s a risk classific= ation problem. Research-space companies are routinely flagged by processors= even when operating within legal bounds. Until the industry finds a more s= table processing solution, expect occasional friction at checkout across mu= ltiple vendors. Topic 2: Testing standards =E2=80=94 what they mean and why they matter We broke down the full testing stack that separates accountable vendors fro= m the rest: Identification =E2=80=94 confirms the compound is what the label says it is Net content =E2=80=94 verifies the total amount of compound in the vial Net purity =E2=80=94 checks what percentage of that content is actually the= target peptide Endotoxins =E2=80=94 screens for bacterial byproducts that can cause seriou= s immune reactions Sterility =E2=80=94 confirms the product is free of viable microorganisms Heavy metals =E2=80=94 tests for contamination from lead, arsenic, cadmium,= and similar USP 61 vs USP 71 =E2=80=94 not the same test USP 61 is a 5-day bioburden test. It counts the number of living microorgan= isms present but does not confirm sterility. It gives a microbial load read= ing, not a pass/fail on sterility. USP 71 is a 14-day sterility test and the gold standard. It determines whet= her the product is free of viable microorganisms. This is what you want to = see on a COA for injectable research compounds. A vendor citing USP 61 for =E2=80=9Csterility=E2=80=9D is technically passi= ng a bioburden test =E2=80=94 not a sterility test. These are not interchan= geable. Topic 3: New product formats entering the research space The product landscape is expanding beyond reconstituted vials. Nasal sprays= and capsules are now showing up with third-party testing =E2=80=94 specifi= cally net content verification =E2=80=94 which is something we haven=E2=80= =99t seen applied to these formats before. This is a meaningful development. One of the most= persistent behind-the-scenes headaches for research companies right now is= payment processing. Vendors have been cycling through as many as seven dif= ferent processors trying to find one that’s both reliable and will ac= tually pay out. The result: customers hitting declined transactions at chec= kout, often with no clear explanation.

This isn’t a s= olvency issue — it’s a risk classification problem. Research-sp= ace companies are routinely flagged by processors even when operating withi= n legal bounds. Until the industry finds a more stable processing solution,= expect occasional friction at checkout across multiple vendors.

Topic 2: Testing standards — what they mean and why they= matter

We broke down the full testing stack that = separates accountable vendors from the rest:

  • Iden= tification — confirms the compound is what the label s= ays it is

  • = Net content — verifies the total amount of com= pound in the vial

  • Net purity — checks what percentage of= that content is actually the target peptide

  • Endotoxins —= ; screens for bacterial byproducts that can cause serious immune reactions<= /span>

  • St= erility — confirms the product is free of viable micro= organisms

  • = Heavy metals — tests for contamination from le= ad, arsenic, cadmium, and similar

= USP 61 vs USP 71 — not the same test

USP 61 = is a 5-day bioburden test. It counts the number of living microorganisms pr= esent but does not confirm sterility. It gives a microbial load reading, no= t a pass/fail on sterility.

USP 71 is a 14-day sterility te= st and the gold standard. It determines whether the product is free of viab= le microorganisms. This is what you want to see on a COA for injectable res= earch compounds.

A vendor citing USP 61 for “sterilit= y” is technically passing a bioburden test — not a sterility te= st. These are not interchangeable.

Topic 3: New produ= ct formats entering the research space

The product= landscape is expanding beyond reconstituted vials. Nasal sprays and capsul= es are now showing up with third-party testing — specifically net con= tent verification — which is something we haven’t seen applied = to these formats before.

This is a meaningful development. = Holding alternative delivery formats to the same documentation standards as= injectables raises the bar across the board and gives researchers more con= fidence when evaluating non-injectable options.

Liste= ner Q&A: RFK and the category 1 vs category 2 peptide reclassification<= /strong>
