 Please update any OpenAI macOS apps before May 8, 2026 to avoid disruption of access. Any apps that are not updated on this timeline will be blocked until updated.



 As mentioned in our previous email and shared in our recent blog post , as a precautionary security measure, the OpenAI security team has rotated code signing material for all OpenAI macOS apps. To confirm, we found no evidence that OpenAI user data was accessed, that our systems were compromised, or that our software was altered. This action was taken out of an abundance of caution. Applications on iOS, Android, and Windows are not affected.


 What you should do before May 8:


 If you use ChatGPT Desktop, Codex App, Codex CLI, or Atlas on macOS and have not already, please update to the minimum latest versions by May 8:

 You do not need to reset your OpenAI password or rotate your OpenAI API keys.
