WREC Severe Weather Alert






 Hello, WREC Member,

 As a severe weather event approaches our area, please know that WREC is fully prepared to respond. I want to reassure you that WREC has no intention of implementing any rolling blackouts. We encourage you to take steps now to ensure your safety and the safety of your loved ones.

With colder weather, many members will rely more on heating to stay comfortable. Heating systems can cause energy use and bills to rise quickly, so we encourage you to consider these simple tips:


 Set your thermostat to a comfortable setting.
 For every degree below 68, you can save up to 5% on heating costs.


 Adjust your thermostat gradually.
Sudden increases can trigger auxiliary heat, which uses significantly more energy.


 Use electric blankets to warm smaller areas and remember to turn them off when leaving the room.
